Who We Can Take In

Rubies & Rogues is a 100% foster-based rescue with no facility. We aren't limited by breed or size, but our ability to accept animals depends on available foster homes and resources. Much of our intake comes through our shelter and rescue partners: when their space is limited, we step in to pull animals into foster care.
✓ Animals We May Be Able to Help
- Animals pulled from our shelter and rescue partners when their space is limited
- Mothers with puppies
- Young puppies vulnerable in shelter environments
- Animals in underserved communities with limited animal welfare resources
- Animals facing significant medical needs
- Strays that have been scanned for a microchip and reported to the local shelter
✕ Animals We Cannot Accept
- Owner surrenders
- Animals with known behavioral concerns
Need to Rehome Your Pet?
We don't accept owner surrenders, but help may still be available. If a vet bill, vaccinations, or a temporary hardship is putting your pet's home at risk, R&R Paws Forward may be able to help keep your pet with you.
What Should I Do If I Find a Stray?
- Contact your local animal shelter or animal control agency first.
- Have the animal scanned for a microchip to help locate its owner.
- Work with your local shelter for intake whenever space is available.
- If the shelter can't accept the animal, contact our Rescue Director to ask about possible assistance.
Shelter or Rescue Partner?
We work alongside shelters and fellow rescues to make room for animals who need it most. If your facility is at capacity or has an animal that needs foster care, please reach out to our Rescue Director.

All intake requests should be sent to Alyssa Richie, Rescue Director, at rescue@rubiesandrogues.com.
